Cruelty Free Products

Today, most people want their beauty products to be the most natural and healthy for their skin which includes all organic ingredients, vegan formulas, and excludes anything damaging. However, some companies still believe that their products need to be tested on animals. Most brands that do not test their products on animals use this as a staple marketing advantage. Brands such as NARS,  Estee Lauder, MAC, Lancome,  and Makeup Forever do still use animals to test their products. Some lines also made the decision to  use animal testings because they began to sell their products in China. China requires animal testings on any foregone makeup brand which will be sold in their country making brands like NARS switch to using testing on animals.

Animal lovers around the world have protested that companies should not use innocent animals for their benefit. These products could seriously harm an animal in so many different ways. Animals are lovable but do not get a choice if they are used as lab rats or not, in these testing centers anything could happen. The centers are never usually publicized and are in remote locations.

The state of California recently passed a Cruelty Free Cosmetics bill restricting any testing on animals in that state. The European union has also passed a similar bill outlawing any product testings on animals. Therefore there are other methods of testing products such as simply using the ingredience that are already know to be safe and affective and using consenting humans to try out their products before they are released to the public.  Brands such as Jeffree Star, Urban Decay, Kat Von D, Anastasia Beverly Hills, and Hourglass.

New York Fashion Week

Considering Fashion Week is the center of all makeup and clothing trends I thought it would be best to introduce this blog on a big note. Fashion week, in theory, is a great way for artists and designers to display their works. However, most of the top designers still use the stereotypical models in their shows. These models always Spark great controversy throughout social media because of the unrealistic beauty standards in the world we live in. Some designers such as Torrid and Savage X Fenty by Rihanna have began to incorporate many different plus sized models, relating to the blogs purpose is to discuss all aspects of the beauty industry, controversial or not.

On another note, all current makeup trends are preformed on these models by Fashion Weeks extremely talented artists such as Pat McGrath, Odile Glibert, and Diane Kendal. These people are all makeup artists backstage at fashion week creating art on incredibly popular models walking in the shows. Currently, there are many different popular makeup trends such as a full face contour, smoked out eyes, sharp eyeliner designs, big lashes, and incredibly glowy and colorful highlights which are all showcased during NYFW.

The beauty industry has gotten much more popular in the past couple of decades along with the development of social media platforms allowing people to create a platform for themselves. Youtuber’s and people who are “Instagram Famous” can use their platforms to share their new  makeup, hair and style looks which gives inspiration to those who aspire to improve their skills. We are living in an age where people can feel free to express their creative ability with cosmetics, and that is what this blog is all about.
